Renowned British Sports car maker and researcher Group Lotus is currently going high on research in areas that cover hybrids, electric vehicles, and renewable fuels.
The company has recently unveiled an eco friendly version of its best selling car – the Elise. Called the Eco Elise, the company has developed this new car with a range of new age technologies and biodegradable products.
The Eco Elise includes biodegradable components like hemp, eco-wool and sisal. These replace conventional materials used in the body panels and trim.
This technology aims at reduced emissions of both solvents as well as CO2 in the life cycle of the vehicle. The company goes by the 3R’s philosophy – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and keep a close watch on the energy utilization in this project.
According to Mike Kimberly, CEO of Group Lotus, the company is at the cutting edge of environmental technology, determined to push forward its green agenda.
