Bharti Airtel and Vodafone have launched the Apple iPhone across India.
Crowds queued up outside a mall in Gurgaon and a number of shops in Delhi to pick up the latest Apple iPhone. The phone that has been launched in India is costlier than its US version.
However, the 30,000 plus price has intimidated no one. In the USA, customers pay $199 for the price of the phone since AT&T - the service provider for this phone heavily subsidizes the price and ties customers to annual subscriptions.
India does not have 3G services as yet to support faster browsing and downloads. According to Apple, the lack of 3G in India has not hampered the demand of other 3G mobile phones in India.
