Phone giant Nokia has launched the Nokia N series N96 phone in India. It is optimized for internet access and entertainment.

It is a dual slide Nokia N96, which offers a memory size of 16 GB.

It is further expandable 24 GB with the help of an external micro SD card. The Nokia N96 will be available from September 2008. Currently there is a pre-booking scheme to own the mobile.

This pre-booking scheme will offer consumers to secure the N96 in advance. The N96 is a versatile phone that can store upto 18,000 songs, up to 20,000 images at 5 mega pixel, up to 60hours of video, or 20 full length movies.  

There is also a ‘kick stand’ on the back cover for hands free viewing experience. This mobile also comes with Wave Secure, which is a unique security option that allows customers to track their handsets if stolen. Also, it creates a back up for the phone using the Internet.

Nokia states that this application is being exclusively offered to Indian consumers.
