Audi quattro Cup debuts in India

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has announced the inaugural Indian edition of Audi quattro Cup. The Audi quattro Cup ranks among the world’s major and most popular tournament series for amateur golfers.

“Precision, performance, elegance and “Vorsprung durch Technik”: Audi and golfing have a lot in common. Designed for and involving people who combine the most exacting demands with passion and style. With such unique similarities between the two, it was natural for us to bring this high-class international amateur golf tournament to India” explains Benoit Tiers, Managing Director Audi India.

In India, the tournament will feature over 200 amateur golfers at two national leg events at DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon (August 22nd, 2008) and Eagleton Golf Resort, Bangalore (September 6th, 2008).

The winners will qualify for participation in the Audi quattro Cup World Finals to be staged at the Golf Resort ABAMA on the Canarian Island of Tenerife from October 17th to 21st, 2008.

Golf plays a central role in Audi’s engagement in worldwide sponsorship. Audi has been involved in golfing for almost two decades now. Around the world, the Audi quattro Cup ranks among the biggest and most popular amateur tournament series. In 2007, Audi partners from over 40 countries around the globe organized over 700 tournaments. More than 80,000 amateur golfers participated in these competitions.
