Mamta Banerjee’s agitation forces Nano plant shutdown

Tata Motors management has decided to evacuate all its manpower from the Nano auto plant.

In light of the state of affairs at the plant site in Singur, none of the 800-odd engineers and executives including workers could report for work.

According to company sources, Tata Chairman Ratan Tata and his top aides were making a final evaluation by next week whether to finally pull out of West Bengal.

The company was on the brink because of daily threats and intimidation of its workers and staff by the agitators.

The company has decided to pull out all its officers and workers and shut down the plant for now.

It seems that the agitation is getting out of the hands of Mamta Banerjee and could even take a violent turn.
