Fiat ready to supply future engines for JLR
Fiat is discussing alternatives with Tata Motors about supplying future engines to Jaguar-Land Rover once the Ford agreement comes to an end.
Currently, there is an agreement to source engines from Ford for JLR. According to Fiat Global CEO Sergio Marchionne, the company wishes to extend its association with the Tatas to include various other aspects for partnership like architecture, design, platform, and power train also.
“There is a lot of openness in Fiat about its partnership with Tata and JLR is a great opportunity for collaboration on architecture, power train, design and platform,” Mr Marchionne mentioned, signifying that they were talking to the Tatas.
A senior representative of the Fiat group said that the company was open to provide engines for the JLR. They also have approached Tata Motors to move towards a deal on this issue.
