Volkswagen’s cars due to roll-out six months earlier

German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen’s passenger cars are due to roll out six months earlier than planned.

This is as per head of the German state of Lower Saxony, Christian Wulff.  He said "We had a great experience as far as India is concerned.

The new plant in Pune is coming up six months earlier than its plan," Around 300 million dollars are being invested in a 500 acre site at Chakan near Pune by Volkswagen.

The plant is slated to be operational in 2009 and it will produce small cars. Wulff mentioned.

Wulff is leading a 100 strong business delegation to India. He said that Volkswagen aspires to leverage the Indian market, it its efforts to expand its global market share.

At the same time, he said that Germany is keen to develop an international exhibition ground in Mumbai, in his meet with state Governer SC Jamir at the Raj Bhavan.
