Maruti Suzuki India declines price cut

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd announced, that it will not reduce price cut to beat recession. Though the commodity prices are lower, the company was still struggling with high steel prices.

The A-Star is launched and is all set to make waves. It is going to target the A2 segment and there are no plans to reduce prices at the moment. One lakh units of the model would be exported to Europe, and 50,000 units would be sold in the domestic market.

By 2010, Maruti plans to produce one million units from its two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana.
