Productivity raise in Yamaha

With the launch of 153 cc FZ-16 and the overwhelming response for FZ-16 made Yamaha Motor India to go ahead in increasing the production. Yamaha Motors India has planned to increase its production to 500 units a day. Currently, its surajpur plant in Uttar Pradesh produces 350 units per day.

As per the statement of national business head of Yamaha Motors India, Pankaj Dubey , in the three months (October, November and December), the two wheeler company is aiming at 25000 units of FZ-16. Adding, the sales target depends on productivity which is in scarcity as of now.

Yamaha released its FZ-16 in October at a price of Rs. 65000. They have planned to increase its FZ-16 production step by step to maintain its quality. As of now, there are 22000 paid-up orders for FZ-16. The lingering time for FZ-16 is getting increased from 28 days to 50-80 days making it meagre. The need for FZ-16 has outshined YZF-R15 (150 cc) making it the most wanted than other bikes.

Yamaha is also selling other mobiles which includes MT01 (1670 cc), YZF-R1 (998 cc), Gladiator Type SS & RS (125 cc), Gladiator Graffiti (125cc), G5 (106 cc), Alba (106 cc) and Crux (106 cc). Further, it is planning to launch two more bikes in the coming year and also involved in analysing market for its gearless scooters. And the older model bikes will be going out of the market based on the order for those bikes.

Combining its Faridabad and Surajpur plant, the company is targeting for eight lakh units per annum. For its plants, the company allotted an investment of Rs. 800 crore to increase its existing capacity to produce four lakh units per annum. Moreover, as a whole in the country it has planned to increase its current 330 dealers to 1500 dealers.
