Sony unveils the Sony HDR-TG5V a high end camcorder equipped with high end features. The Sony HDR-TG5V is the perfect example for fusion of excellent performance and enhanced features.

Sony HDR-TG5V camcorder captures 1920×1080 high-definition video and four MP photos. Sony HDR-TG5V camcorder features 16GB of flash memory, embedded GPS, minimal buttons and a remarkable intuitive user interface.

Kelly Davis, director of camcorder marketing at Sony Electronics said “Travelers are looking for high-quality products that focus on performance and portability.” He added “This new model has a titanium body with a premium hard coating, enhancing durability and it’s packed with high-performance features like GPS and Smile Shutter technology that deliver the best combination for your travel experiences.”

The other features include built-in GPS antenna, NAVTEQ digital maps that let you geo-tag your videos and photos, 2.7-inch wide LCD touch panel. It also bundles up the Picture Motion Browser software.

The camcorder holds up to six hours of high definition video footage (LP mode) and also enables you to capture content onto Memory Stick PRO Duo media which is sold separately for some more recording time. Smile Shutter technology and Face Detection technology are the other important features.

In addition to this, the BIONZ Image Processor along with an Exmor CMOS sensor for pristine imaging, a professional-quality Carl Zeiss Vaio-Tessar lens with 10X optical zoom and built-in flash are embedded in the Sony HDR-TG5V camcorder.

The Sony HDR-TG5V camcorder is likely to ship in May for $1,000. A travel kit (Sony ACC-TCH5) that includes a battery, travel charger and pouch at $100 while a wide angle conversion lens (Sony VCL-HGE07TB) is optional and will be priced about $100.
