A good digital camera is a must have travel accessory. Nikon has added a new camera to its catalogue of digital cameras with its latest range of eight compact Nikon COOLPIX cameras. These cameras comprise four Style Series cameras, three Life Series cameras, and one Performance Series camera.

The series begins with the Nikon COOLPIX P90, which is a part of Nikon's flagship Performance Series of cameras. A 24x optical zoom, covering an angle to super telephoto [26-624mm (35mm format)], a new 3.0-inch vari-angle LCD monitor with tilt function and anti-reflection coating, and 15 fps high-speed capability are the main features.

Other features include a 4-Way VR Image Stabilization System, ISO 6400 capability (3mp), electronic viewfinder, Scene Auto Selector, Quick Retouch, and Distortion Control. Nikon's New Nikon COOLPIX S-Series include S630, S620, S230, and S220 cameras.

Nikon COOLPIX S630 is a compact 12-megapixel camera with 7x Optical Zoom, 2.7-inch LCD, Sport Continuous Mode for shooting up to 11 frames-per-second (fps), Scene Auto Selector, Quick Retouch, Blink Proof, 4-Way VR Image Stabilization, and ISO 6400 capability. It is available in Silver color nationwide for Rs. 24,950.

Nikon COOLPIX S620 is equipped with 12.2-megapixel camera with 4x-wide Optical Zoom, start-up time of 0.7 seconds, Subject Tracking, Scene Auto Selector, Quick Retouch, Blink Proof, Motion Detection, 4-Way VR Image Stabilization, ISO 6400 capability, and full resolution. It is available nationwide in Black color for Rs. 18,950.

Nikon COOLPIX S230 is a 10 Mega Pixel camera which hosts a touchscreen design on a 3.0-inch high-resolution LCD, 3x Optical Zoom, One-touch Focus and Zoom, Write and Draw Functions, Scene Auto Selector, Quick Retouch, Smart Portrait System, Blink Proof, 4-Way VR Image Stabilization, and ISO 2000 capability. It is available in three colors namely Purple, Red and Silver and is priced at Rs. 14,250.

Nikon COOLPIX S220 is equipped with a 10-megapixel camera and bears a slim body design (18mm) with a 2.5-inch LCD, Scene Auto Selector, 3x Optical Zoom, Smart Portrait System, Blink Proof, Quick Retouch, and 4-Way VR Image Stabilization. It is available in five colors Silver, Green, Purple, Blue, and Magenta. This retails for Rs. 9,950.

Nikon COOLPIX L100 has a 10 Megapixel camera and features a 3.0-inch high-resolution LCD with anti-reflection coating, Scene Auto Selector, 15x Optical Zoom covering an angle to super telephoto [28-420mm (35mm format)], Sport Continuous Mode to take pictures up to 30 consecutive frames at 13 fps, 4-Way VR Image Stabilization System, and Smart Portrait System. This is available in Black color for Rs. 18,450.

Nikon COOLPIX L20, the latest 8-megapixel camera from Nikon has a 3.0-inch LCD monitor, 3.6x zoom, Easy Auto Mode with Scene Auto Selector, Smart Portrait System, Motion Detection, and 5 color options for special effects. It is available in Silver, Black, and Red colors and is priced at Rs. 8,950.

The last in the series is the 8-megapixel Nikon COOLPIX L19 which features a 2.7-inch LCD monitor, 3.6x zoom, Easy Auto Mode with Scene Auto Selector, Smart Portrait System, Motion Detection, and 5 color options for special effects. This one is available in Silver color and is priced at Rs. 7,450.
