TVS Motors to roll out two-wheelers in Bengal

Though the Tatas did not have a good experience in Bengal, yet TVS Motors, another auto major is expecting it big in the left-ruled state. Recently, the TVS Motors, India announced that the company plans to roll out two-wheelers from its new plant in the next three-four months.

And the company is quite upbeat about the launch and the consequent results. Venu Srinivasan, CMD of TVS Motors and also the president of apex industry chamber CII, said that the company is confident about its plans in West Bengal and believe it is a good place to be in. 

It is to be mentioned here that TVS will however, not be making any direct investments for the project but will be giving license manufacturing rights to its partner Mahabharat Motors Manufacturing Co Pvt Ltd.

It is a joint venture between Indonesia's Salim Group and Prasoon Mukherjee's Universal Success Enterprises.  

The TVS Motors factory is coming up on a 64-acre plot at Uluberia in Howrah district, around 50kms from Kolkata.

Sources say that TVS is looking at rolling out its entire portfolio from the location, including motorcycles, scooters and mopeds.
