Brand new Porsche dealership in Kolkata by 2010

Porsche, the renowned German sports car maker is quite upbeat about its Indian operations and is making plans to expand its presence in the country.

While its range of luxury cars; the 911 range, the Cayman, the luxury sports utility vehicle (LSUV) Cayenne and the Boxster, Cayenne diesel  will continue to be imported, the company would have exclusive showrooms in all the major cities in the country like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Ahmadabad, Chennai and Ludhiana besides Delhi and Mumbai.

The Stuttgart-based auto giant is sprucing up to set up an outlet in Kolkata by 2010 and will have all the models which are available in India. The company presently has two Porsche centre namely Mumbai and New Delhi.

Speaking about the expansion plans, Mr. Rod Wallace, managing director of Precision Cars India (its sole importer), said “We are hopeful of having a dealership in Calcutta by 2010.

He added “We are evaluating dealership enquiries and the process can take time as we carefully select partners who share our passion and can provide the Porsche experience to customers.” “The passion for automobiles and a good financial track record are given high priority while choosing a dealer,” Wallace said.
