Jewelers across India are trying to reap profits in the on going wedding season. Offering huge discounts to consumers is one way to entice gold buyers.

Tanishq the leading jewelry brand decided to do just that by offering a 20 per cent discount on making charges of 22K gold jewelry. The offer is volume based and higher the purchase, bigger the discount.

In addition to that, Tanishq is also offering a flat 10% discount on purchase of studded diamond jewelry above Rs 2, 00,000. The offer is valid till June 30, 2009 and can be availed across all Tanishq outlets.

Tanishq jewellery for ‘Wedding Season’ comprises colored stones set in classic gold designs, floral diamonds, Kundan and jadau and meenakari. Tanishq is the country’s leading jewellery brand with a premium range of gold jewellery and in the FY’09 the sales went up 36.3 per cent to Rs 2,763.20 crore.

The company also reported a growth rate of nearly 6 per cent in its net profit in the financial year that ended March 31, 2009 to Rs 158.96 crore against Rs 150.27 crore of FY'08. The discounts offered by Tanishq this wedding season is bound to bring in better sales.

The brides-to-be can lap up the huge discounts offered and shop for the jewelry of their choice.
