Book on the legendary Lata Mangeshkar released

A book based on the life of the legendary crooner Lata Mangeshkar was released on Friday. The singer has enthralled music lovers for over decades with her inimitable singing and ageless voice.

She was present at the inauguration of the book entitled "Lata Mangeshkar in her own voice" written by writer Nasreen Munni Kabir. It is in English and describes all the significant events from her life from childhood till date.

It is in the form of a series of interviews with the singer on various topics. In addition to this, experiences of famous personalities like Akhtar, Waheeda Rehman, Dilip Kumar and family members with the legendary singer have been mentioned in the book.

Talking about the book, writer Kabir said "It was challenging as I had to do a lot of research and it was important not to ask only simple but also some tricky questions which made her think for some time. It was easy to convince her for this as I met her in the 1990s and she has also seen my earlier work."

Present at the event were Hindi Cinema personalities like Javed Akhtar, actor Jaya Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman and singers like Alka Yagnik.
