The all new all new DSLR-A380, DSLR-A330 and DSLR-A230 have been introduced by Sony especially for beginners in DSLR photography. These cameras are small and lightweight and are easy to use. They also feature many unique expansion options without compromising on performance.
According to Kristen Elder, senior manager for Alpha business at Sony Electronics Inc., “Our new alpha cameras, lenses and accessories make it easier for new users to get the great photos they expect without the steep learning curve that DSLRs have traditionally required,” He added “By overcoming the obstacles, we’ve made it much easier for newcomers to take great pictures with DSLRs.”
The A-230 is the lightest 10.2 mega pixel camera weighing only 15.9 ounces. The DSLR-A380 and DSLR-A330 are lighter, being the smaller versions of the DSLR-A350 and the DSLR-A300 respectively. They feature a sensitive control layout offering easy one hand operations. They also include SteadyShot Inside image stabilizer to minimize the blur caused by camera shake. Sony’s Quick Autofocus Live View technology is featured in the A380 and the A330. A devoted image sensor is utilized to maintain the speed of responses of the DSLR while circumventing focus delay.
These models are equipped with Clear Photo LCD screen measuring 2.7-inch diagonally. Viewable in bright sunlight also, the LCD screen of the A380 and the A330 is tiltable upwards or downwards to take pictures from high or low positions. Users can take photos without grasping the camera at eye-level.
Also included is a HDMI terminal that allows connection of the camera to a HDTV for viewing images. High capacity Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo and SD/SDHC media are also supported.
These devices are the first from Sony to include a graphical user interface and built-in Help Guide. The Help Guide gives users lucid and step-by-step explanation of the various modes and features included in the camera.
Two latest standard zoom and telephoto lenses are also available along with the camera. Moreover, new portrait and macro lenses have also been revealed. They provide professional-looking and ingenious results easily. Featuring APS-C sized image sensors and Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM), these devices provide smooth, quiet, and high quality optical working.
These cameras can be pre ordered on the company’s official website and through select retail stores. A range of accessories along with the cameras can be purchased from any Sony Style retail stores, military base exchanges and authorized dealers from July onwards. The price of the L series with SAL-1855 standard zoom lens is $850 (approx Rs.40, 775) for the A380L. The price of the A330L is around $ 650(approximately Rs. 31,182) and $ 550 (approximately Rs. 36,385) for the A230L. The Y series along with the SAL-1855 standard zoom and SAL-55200 telephoto zoom lenses come for $ 1050 (approximately Rs. 50,353) for the A380Y. The A330Y is priced at around $850, which is approximately Rs. 40,774, while the A230Y is priced at around $750, which is approximately Rs 35,966.
