Thus, you can expect an LG 5 Star Rated television to deliver an APC (max.) of 147 kWh/Year in 21” and 200 KWH/Year for a 29” flat television. These figures have been arrived at while considering the daily usage pattern of about six hours in ‘On Mode’ and the television remaining for 12 hours in the ‘Standby mode’. A rating between one and five mentions the energy efficiency of the television on an energy efficiency label.

According to Moon B. Shin, MD, LG Electronics, “The upcoming line-up is yet another testimony of our endeavor to give the most excellent to the Indian consumer. Energy efficiency is the most important aspect in consumer electronics. After conducting a thorough research, we are planning to develop 31 models with 100 per cent Star Rating by end of 2009.”

According to business group marketing head, LG India, “Star Rating has been an extremely popular phenomenon across product categories like ACs and refrigerators. And now, we intend to make it popular in CTV category as well making CTV purchase the most sought after deal of the season. Even though the industry is witnessing four per cent category growth, we at LG are looking forward to an optimistic 7 per cent by 2009. With this, we aim to increase our market share from the current 27 per cent to a fair 30 per cent by the end of this year expecting total sales of four million sets in domestic market.”

The ultra slim range from LG will feature an inbuilt swivel base along with a high gloss finish, this giving it an LCD like look. Further, there will be a monitor look ultra slim TV with additional features like X-List and X-sort.
