Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) on Tuesday unveiled the latest version of CBF Stunner sports bike, priced at Rs. 64,630 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The wholly owned two wheeler subsidiary of Japan based Honda Motor Company intends to foray into the high-volume 100 cc bike segment in 2010.
Honda’s CBF stunner is targeted at the youth. HMSI, the wholly-owned two-wheeler subsidiary of Japan-based Honda Motor Company, plans to enter the high-volume 100 cc bike segment in 2010.
The new CBF Stunner has a 125 cc air-cooled four-stroke self-start engine which delivers 11.6 bhp power and is equipped with PGM-FI (programmed fuel injection) technology that increases fuel efficiency (65 km a litre) and performance besides improving efficiency.
HMSI Chief Executive Officer Shinji Aoyama said: “Last fiscal we sold about 10.7-lakh two-wheelers and this year we are targeting 12 per cent increase at 12.5-lakh units. CBF Stunner will play an important role in meeting the sales target.” Mr. Aoyama said HMSI, by 2010, would enter the 100-cc entry level motorcycle segment that would be priced between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 45,000.
“The Indian two-wheeler market is predominantly motorcycle-oriented; therefore, we are aligning ourselves according to the market. We will further consolidate our presence through new launches,” he added.
Honda CBF Stunner will be available in the market by the first week of June and priced at Rs. 64,630 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
