Rolls-Royce likely to launch a small car

Rolls-Royce is all set to introduce a small car. This is a decision taken in the wake of the global recession. Like every other Auto Major, Rolls Royce is contemplating the launch of a new car, amidst the crisis looming most of the auto manufacturers.

Rolls Royce Motor Cars showcased Phantom Coupe, its fourth new model in the Phantom brand line-up, in India. “The Phantom Coupe is the most driver-oriented model in the current line-up. It completes the Phantom family, adding to Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase and Phantom Drophead Coupe,” Rolls Royce Motors Cars’ General Manager (South and East Asia Pacific) Matthew Bennett told reporters here.

However the small car from Rolls Royce would be bigger than any of the smaller cars seen on Indian Roads. A Rolls Royce official says, “Though it is a comparatively small car, it will be positioned above the BMW 7 Series and below the Phantom 4-door sedan”.

The RR4 will keep some illustrious company in Rolls-Royce showrooms such as the Phantom Standard Wheelbase, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, Phantom Drophead Coupe and Phantom Coupe.
