The Jazz, a premium hatchback car is all set to be launched on 10th June from leading car company Honda Siel. Jazz is expected to be priced at Rs. 6.5-6.8 lakhs, which makes it the most expensive ‘super-mini’ in India, as per the dealers and people with knowledge of the company’s pricing plan.

Even though the foreign exchange rates are fluctuating, this leads to an increase in the price of this car much above the competing models like Skoda Fabia and Hyundai i20, the Jazz based on the same platform as Honda City is still cheaper than the best-selling sedan.

Honda Siel CEO Masahiro Takedagawa is flying to Japan to get the formal approval from the Japanese parent in next 2 weeks time. Jazz is based on a new platform is specially developed for India and going global as will be exported to other markets. Compared to all other Hatchback cars, Jazz will offer better fuel efficiency, claims Honda.

The production of Jazz has already begun at Greater Noida plant on May 28. Honda claims that compared to the City’s 1.5 litre engine that offers 120 PS power, Jazz is well fitted with a 1.2 litre petrol engine that will crank out 90PS power.
