Honda May sales up 3.3 pc

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd., (HSCI), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, today reported a growth of 3.3% for the month of May 2009 with sales of 4073 units as against sales of 3943 units in May 2008. Honda City continues to do well as it sold an impressive 3638 units this month as against 2375 units sold in the same month in the previous year, marking a growth of over 53%

The company sold a total of 7,729 units in the period April-May 2009 as against 7,343 units sold in the corresponding period last year translating into 5.25% growth.

Speaking on the occasion Mr.Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President, Marketing said "The market has seen an upsurge in the last few months and these are positive signs for a stable economy. The new Honda City has been performing very well ever since its launch.

Model wise break-up for May 09: City: 3638; Civic: 223; Accord: 212
