Acer has announced a revised price for its entry-level desktop the EL- 1600 to Rs. 9,999 across the country.

This entry level desktop would be based on the single-core Intel Atom 230 processor, where the Nettop is smaller and consumes less power than a conventional one. 

As per a press release, the EL1600 sports a black lustrous design and features such as a SATA Serial Hard disk of up to 160 gigabytes, 1GB RAM, onboard Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, High-Definition audio, and up to 8 USB Ports.

The release quotes Chief Marketing officer - Acer India, S Rajendran, “The EL 1600 heralds the arrival of a much-needed computing solution that appeals to the larger audience with an astute combination of pricing and specs”. 

He added “We are confident that with the revision of prices, the EL 1600 will make a significant dent on the Indian PC market. Today our country has a PC penetration rate of just over 3%. We believe that this offering will significantly help grow the overall market for PCs in India by offering the entry level PC user a no compromise, full-fledged performance machine at a previously unimaginable price”.
