Eighth-generation Toyota Land Cruiser hits Indian roads

The Eighth-generation Toyota Land Cruiser, a globally acclaimed leader in the premium SUV segment is launched in India by the Toyota Kirloskar Motors. 8th generation Toyota Land Cruiser SUV is powered by the 4.5 L V8 diesel engine generating 286 PS, and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, with 6 speed automatic transmission.

Two options will be available in 8th generation Toyota Land Cruiser SUV - one will have 9 speakers and the other will have an advanced 6 DVD, 14 JBl premium speaker systems with EMV screen and a Moon Roof. First one will be priced at Rs 81.64 lakh and the other one is priced at Rs 83.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane). This new gen car suffices with ultimate four-wheel-drive and has unparalleled cutting-edge technology and comfort features. Toyota has sold over 5 million units globally within 50 years of prestigious time.

Other unmatched features for the ultimate driving experience include Unique Crawl Control System, enhanced Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), Hill Assist Control and Multi-Terrain ABS system. It also has other luxury features like 6 DVD, 14 speaker JBL system with EMV screen and advanced 4 zone air-conditioning system with 28 outlets.As far as safety is concerned, it is equipped with 10 airbags with Seat Position Sensors, Active Traction Control, Clearance and Back Sonar to assist in cornering/reversing.

Sadayoshi Koyari, chief engineer, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) said, “The New Land Cruiser has been extremely successful globally. The Land Cruiser can handle different terrains with an innovative Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, which offers both on-road stability and off-road exploration. The unique Crawl Control System automatically balances engine power and the brakes, thereby enabling the Land Cruiser to handle all types of rocky terrain.”

Toyota Land Cruiser contains multi-terrain ABS which continuously monitors engine revolution and vehicle speed, adjusts wheel-slippage in an instant regardless of surface conditions.

The Land Cruiser is made suitable for mountainous terrain as the Hill Assist Control smoothes hill starts. As usual passenger safety and security is kept at the priority by providing 10 airbags with Seat Position Sensors, Active Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control and Clearance and Back Sonar (to assist in cornering/reversing). Worlds most advanced four zone air-conditioning system where each passenger has an independent temperature control facility is available in the latest Land Cruiser.
