Skoda Octavia’s renewed model might be released in few years

Skoda Auto India being in continuous competition in the D-segment cars is reported to have been evaluating the possibility of launching an upgraded version of Skoda Octavia model in next few years.  

Moreover, the refreshed model would be finetuned in such a way as to make it more India-specific is also reported by HT. In the next few years, it is also believed to build the car on a new platform by the Indian arm of the Czech automaker from its existing Chakan facility near Pune in Maharashtra. The details like specifications, pricing and versions are not revealed by the company now.  

Thee Skoda Octavia is a sedan produced by Czech automaker Skoda Auto since 1996 all over the world, the name is changed from the original model produced between 1959 and 1971. Skoda Octavia’s current model consists of five-door liftback and estate body styles. Many of the car’s components, including engines, and platform is shared with various other models from the Volkswagen Group, including the Volkswagen Golf/Jetta. 

In 2008-09, Skoda has sold more than 8000 Octavia models in India, it is in second position in this segment to the Honda’s best selling Civic in numbers.
