Morellato, Italian watch brand that came to India before one year through a venture with Gitanjali Gems which made Morellato watches and jewellery available in India has created its first television commercial.

Preity Zinta and Neil Nitin Mukesh have been announced as the Brand Ambassadors by Morellato. "The international appeal of both these actors helped in narrowing the search" says Dion Lilywhite, vice-president, Timepieces, Gitanjali Lifestyle.

Gracing the red carpet at Cannes before couple of years and co-owning an IPL team, Preity Zinta has been on the international circuit for a long. Despite of Mukesh being a new kid on the Bollywood block, it was his chiseled features that bought him the deal. In few of the prints ads for the Morellato the couple had already appeared.

Fortune Communications are the creators of the TVC. The agency acquired brief was to capture the intimate moments between a man and a woman. Moreover, imperative was to encapsulate the luxury that the brand offers.

The commercial begins with the Preity dressed in red, walking up a cobbled path in anticipation. She glances at her watch waiting for someone. From behind, Mukesh enters and covers her eyes. Zinta turns around to make sure it’s him, but is pissed off as he is late. Soon, she learns the reason he was late was he had been making some arrangements to profess his love for her.

The film contains no dialogue between the protagonists. In the background only song is played and narration to fill up the spaces. To reflect the visuals of Italy in the ad, the creative team went to Italy for a reece. Zinta was unable to spare time off to travel to Italy due to the IPL so the rest of the ad was done in India. The ad was shot by Marlon Rodriguez.

A handful of products have been endorsed by Preity Zinta in the past which includes, Pepsi, Godrej eon and Vatika shampoo. Zinta was also announced as brand ambassador for GoAir and National Geographic Channel. It is first among endorsements for Mukesh.
