Anything is possible when two boys with a passion for computers are zapped straight through the monitor into a new world. In "Adventures in the Land of Ketra" (published by AuthorHouse), the new young adult fiction novel from first-time author and Louisiana native, E.E. Ricardo, join Jamey and Tommy on an exciting fantasy adventure filled with captivating characters and situations that spark the curiosity of its readers.

Jamey and Tommy discover a way into the Land of Ketra through the monitor of a very special computer. From that day forth, computers were never quite the same again to these boys. Although they encounter many bizarre experiences in Ketra, these experiences are what create a desire in them to return again and again.

"Where am I?" Tommy asked trying to sound calm.

"You're in the land of Ketra. Ketra is a magical place where dreams and wishes used to come true," the eagle said shaking his head sadly.

"If Ketra is such a magical place, why is everything so gray?" Tommy wanted to know.

The eagle responded, "Ketra was cursed by the dragon. We are doomed to this twilight -- neither day nor night -- along with this terrible chill in the air. The creatures that live here and the plant life  survived and thrived on the energy they received from the light of the sun. Everything in Ketra will die if the wise man doesn't return."

While entertaining the reader, "Adventures in the Land of Ketra" also promotes valuable lessons and morals: good inevitably wins over evil, there is great value in a true friendship and in uniting with others we find strength to go forward. These virtuous ideals make this book ideal for individuals of all ages.

When asked what has influenced her writing thus far, Ricardo states:

I love fantasy because the "sky is the limit" on how creative a writer can be. It enables a writer to stretch the imagination to infinite heights. If I were to write another book, it would in all probability be a fantasy for the reasons stated.

E.E. Ricardo, born and raised in the South, is an educator as well as first-time author. Ricardo is an educator because she believes that education is one of the key components in the development of productive citizens. She loves to shop, travel, read and write poetry in her spare time.
