Samsung Electronics Australia is further enhancing its iconic status for mobile phone users by announcing a new super stylish, full touch range - ICON. Launching soon, the first four phones in this range include the Samsung Preston ICON, Samsung Galaxy ICON, Samsung HD ICON and Samsung OMNIA ICON and will provide Australia with the biggest range and choice of full touch phones available.

"Following the success of the Samsung F480 and Samsung OMNIA, we are committed to continuing to strengthen our portfolio of full-touch phones by introducing a variety of handsets in Australia to suit every lifestyle. Samsung's leadership position in the Australian touch phone market was recently confirmed by GfK, when the Samsung F480 was announced as the number one selling touch phone in Australia. Adding to its popular touch handsets of Samsung OMNIA and the Samsung UltraTouch, the expanded touch range is expected to give Samsung further dominance in this market.

Providing Samsung with a unique offering, each of the four new touch phones uses a different operating system; Samsung's propriety operating system, Windows Mobile, Symbian and for the first time Android™, providing consumers with choice.

McGee explains, "Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance. Our strategy, to support every existing operating system, provides Samsung customers with a choice that goes beyond design to unrivalled feature performance. Samsung Preston ICON
The Samsung Preston ICON (launched as the Samsung Preston S5600 internationally) will attract style-conscious consumers with its slim and compact design. Utilising Samsung's intuitive TouchWiz User Interface, you will be able to customise and personalise the way you use your phone by dragging and placing widgets on the screen for maximum ease of use. The unique "Smart Unlock" feature is new to this mobile and enables you to unlock the phone and execute the menu directly by drawing a letter of the alphabet on the screen.
