Honda India June sales increase 6.5%

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. (HSCI), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, recorded 6.5% increase in sales for the month of June 2009 with 5039 units as against 4732 units sold in June 2008.

The company sold 12,768 units in the period Apr–June 2009 as against 12,075 units in the corresponding period last year marking an increase of 5.7% in sales.

Honda’s globally acclaimed Jazz, deliveries of which started on June 10, 2009 sold impressive 2032 units in the first month of its launch.

Expressing delight over the performance of Honda Jazz, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President,Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India said “We are happy at the response received by Honda Jazz; we are sure that the customers of Honda Jazz will appreciate the product and help us win new customers.”

Model wise break-up for June 2009: City - 2351; Jazz - 2032; Civic - 451; Accord - 205;
