Heralding the government's budget to stimulate the economy, Hindustan Motors Limited (HML) today offered to cut prices of its Mitsubishi SUVs – Pajero, Outlander & Montero by Rs.6,000/- with effect from 7^th July ‘09. HML is one of the first auto manufacturer’s to confirm a price revision after the excise duty reductions were announced today.

The Finance Minister in his Budget presentation had mentioned that excise duty on cars/utility vehicles under tariff heading 8702 & 8703, having  an engine capacity exceeding 1999 cc has been reduced from 20% +Rs. 20,000 per unit to 20% + Rs.14,000/- per unit. HML is passing on the entire benefit to the customers who can expect a Rs. 6,000/- cut in Pajero, Outlander & Montero prices effective 7th July ’09.

The new ex-showroom prices of the vehicles are as follows:

Mr. R Santhanam, Managing Director Hindustan Motors Limited said, “HM- Mitsubishi Motors believe in giving the best value for money to their customers. With the government announcing a reduction in the excise duty on some of our vehicles in the relevant segment, we are passing on the entire benefit to our customers with effect from July7’09”.

The ex-showroom prices of these models will be same across the country under HM-Mitsubishi’s ‘one country, one price’ concept in India. The other existing schemes applicable on the Mitsubishi models will continue along with the current price correction through out HM- Mitsubishi’s 37 dealers across the country.
