BMW had unveiled its X1 model at the Paris Auto show in 2008. The company is now all set to launch the model in India. The car is already planned to be launched in Europe by October this FY but US launch is still a mystery.

Currently, the latest model is offered as a compact premium Sport Activity Vehicle. In this segment it is the first model of its kind and the target is the young generation crowd. The car is marketed actively on all social media websites by BMW. BMW X1 is already there on Facebook, Twitter and also has a BMWWebTV account on Youtube. 

Four and six cylinder engines both diesel and petrol will be there in BMW X1 and is expected to see the four cylinder turbo petrol in there too. BMW spokesperson said that, “The design of the new X1 is stylish and sporting, yet practical. Short overhangs front and rear, typical of every BMW; ensure the best basis for optimum handling. The profile of the car belies an interior space that sees five adults seated comfortably along with their luggage”. 

As of now, more details, technical specifications and the price tag about the model are not yet officially declared.
