Apple latest launched iPhone 3GS with its 3 megapixel camera has too away people’s mind. Now, everyone is focused on the new iPod upgrade after the iPhone 3GS. Apple will bring next generation iPod Touch with camera, reports MacRumors and TechCrunch.

OmniVision had received order of 3.2 megapixel CMOS Image Sensor for Apple's next-generation iPhone, was reported in April by DigiTimes. Moreover, later this fiscal an order of 5-megapixel CIS was secured for an Apple product is expected to be launched.

MacRumors showed up two case images for iPod Touch and iPod Nano meaning likely to have camera at the back in next generation. The first image from Uxsight is of case listed as "New iPod Touch 3G" that has the camera hold on its back. However, this image has been pulled down by the site.

Another image from DealXtreme of 'Protective Silicone Case for iPod Nano 5' shows a hole on the backside of the case. It is thought that the hole is meant for the camera

Probably Apple wants to make the iPhone OS updates (current and future) for iPod Touch to be worthy of what it costs. Currently, everyone is not paying $10 (Rs. 480 approx.) for the iPhone OS 3.0 software update for their iPod Touch. In September, Apple updates its product cycle for iPods and therefore we will have to wait until proper details are revealed.
