As it is very well said for the rocking Vishal Bharadwaj for his melodies, “Vishal's music makes his films what they are.” The hotties like Makdee, Maqbool and Omkara are so effective just due to the composer’s haunt
ing melodies. If the movie is without the composer and Vishal Bhardwaj the filmmaker loses some of his edge.
Once you hear the soundtrack of Kaminey, it is full of punch, experimental and hummable is a must to hear. The Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra flick is the most popular among the music lovers and is almost similar to the Dev D effect earlier this year. Vishal’s moto is to make sure that like Omkara the music breaks all records of kaminey too.
First song on the list appears Dhan te nan sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Vishal Dadlani. The track is on the TV screens ever since the first promo of the movie. Sukhvinder provides the track a rustic touch at the same time Dadlani adds a rock touch to it. This song is an extremely energetic, fusion sure to be the hit. It certainly has a magic which holds the listeners till it ends and is already famous among listeners.
There is also a remix version for the song Dhan te nan like a raw and scratchy variant of the original.
Mohit Chuahan's Pehli Baar Mohabbat gives a total change in the mood of the audience. It is a soft, free-flowing love ballad creating a romantic mood out from the high tones of Dhan te nan. Chauhan is seen back to the times of
Vishal’s choice is depicted in the Raat Ke Dhai Baje a noteworthy track of the movie. It is a fusion of the Indian Classical as well as western influences. Suresh Wadkar and Rekha Bhardwaj from the classical school are singing with soft vocals with the specialists like Sunidhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala. The lyrics do not cope up but tune is too catchy.
The remix is much more fun with Vishal dishing out a fusion of rap, pop and classical. The idea behind the remix is Stellar idea.
The last but not the least, the song ‘Fatak’ is sung with extra ordinary skills by Sukhwinder and Kailash Kher. The song is an ultimate combination of the fast tempo and the song could catch on big time if utilized well in the narrative with the superb vocals. All the four songs are done drastically with the perfect balance between commercial and experimental music in the movie. And it is very well suited here, “Practice makes man perfect” so, is Vishal moving towards.
