Reduction in Nissan Car price by Rs. 5000

Nissan Motor India has announced the reduction in the prices of its products by Rs 5000 based on the 2009 Budget proposal to reduce the excise duty on big cars.

Kiminobu Tokuyama Nissan Motor India Managing Director said in a statement that, “we welcome and appreciate the positive direction taken by the government and have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers”.

As per the new Budget, Nissan will offer its sports utility vehicle X-Trail for between Rs 20.35 lakh and Rs 24.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

And, Luxury sedan named Teana of the Japanese car maker would be available for Rs 21.42 lakh in India, says the statement. 

Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Ford and many other car makers have also cut down their prices up to Rs 6000 to pass the excise duty cut benefit to the consumers.
