Volvo reduced the sports vehicle XC90 prices by Rs 4 lakh

On this Thursday, Volvo car India, the luxury car maker said that it has cut the prices of its flagship sports utility vehicle XC90 by Rs 4 lakh to boost sales amidst the current economic downturn.  

The Volvo XC90 D5 will be priced at Rs 42.5 lakh, Volvo the XC90 32 will be available for Rs 43.5 lakh and XC90 V8 for Rs 49.5 lakh. 

Volvo Car India said in a statement, “In lieu with current economic scenario and to provide luxury at right price, the prices for the flagship model Volvo XC90 SUV has been reduced by 7-8.5 per cent with effect from July 9”. 

The new dealership at Chennai and Pune was announced by Volvo making the total number seven dealership in India.

Paul de Voijs, MD Volvo Car India told, “The expansion of our dealer network signals the importance of the Indian market to Volvo Cars. We believe that India holds tremendous potential for our brand and want to make sure that we fully capitalise on the opportunities available...” 

Hindustan Motors, Ford India, Honda Siel Cars India and Hyundai Motor India are also not left behind they too have announced the price reduction of Rs 6,000 on some of their models on the basis of the additional excise duty reduction announced in the Budget on 6th July 2009 by FM Pranab Mukherjee.
