Sony has launched a new walkman in its W series which is wireless and is specialy designed for audio fans who want a simple and headphone-only MP3 player to use while on the way.

This recently launched W series walkman is ultra portable, compact and has a weight of 35g and fits easily behind the head, so that it can be made active without getting tangled. This W series light weight walkman is available in five different colors black, white, pink, violet and lime and has a storage capacity of 2GB.

The unique design means there is no traditional display to this MP3 player; instead, it incorporates Sony’s unique new ZAPPIN function that offers an effortless way of browsing, searching and listening to music without a display, allowing you to concentrate solely on your workout. By simply clicking the Jog Dial operation on the inside earpiece, the ZAPPIN mode helps you find tunes easily.

The walkman also has a quick charge feature that helps to play back up to 90 minutes of music with only a three minute charge. Full charge can play up to 12 hours of music playback. It also has a USB cradle to dock and charge the MP3 player. 

The W series has the companies 13.5mm EX headphones and the 'Content Transfer' software supplied with the W series Walkman that helps to easily transfer non-DRM music files from online music services, such as iTunes, to the Walkman by simply 'dragging and dropping' files. 

This new W series wireless walkman will be available at all Sony Center stores and retail partners in India at just a price of Rs. 4990.
