To cope up with recession and do cost cutting, Motorola has moved to Android by skipping Windows Mobile. The details of Motorola's Android based Sholes have surfaced on Motofan.ru, a Russian site.

The new Motorola Sholes phone will support CDMA and EVDO Rev A networks. The phone will be having a 3.7-inch touchscreen. In October, Motorola Android Sholes is expected to debut via Verizon network for U.S. markets but prices details are yet to be revealed.

Iron Man and Heron were leaked after the details about the Android based handsets. Formally, Motorola announced Heron as Karma QA1 where no details about the mobile operating system were revealed.

Next Motorola’s Android based phone is dubbed Sholes that will have a 3.7-inch slider touch screen that has 480x854 resolution. The slide out screen is somewhat similar to that of the T-Mobile G1 phone. This phone too will have a full QWERTY keypad along with the touchscreen so obviously, landscape to portrait screen rotation will take place.

Motorola Sholes sports features like 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, 512MB Flash Memory, 256MB RAM, will support up to 16GB microSD or microSDHC card and GPS. Motorola also has a CDMA and EVDO Rev A network support and adds the much needed WiFi support for connectivity too.
