Both these are the Sony’s first ever cameras swanking back-illuminated ‘EXMOR R’ CMOS sensor technology. Sony Cyber-shot TX1 and WX1 cameras can give detail snaps even if the light conditions are bad and it also provides improved image-clarity and reduced grain effect.

The Cyber-Shot WX1 offers 10.2 megapixel sensor and superior quality f/2.4 Sony ‘G lens’ with 5x optical zoom. The WX1 comes with a 24mm wide angle, 2.7-inch LCD display, and is available in only black color. It can record videos in 720p.

Phil Lubell, director of the digital imaging business at Sony Electronics shared, “With these new “Exmor R” CMOS sensor cameras, Sony has vastly improved the customer experience for taking pictures with digital still cameras in low-light scenarios”. “We’ve all taken pictures in dimly lit situations, like blowing out candles on a birthday cake, and the results were grainy and unclear. By redesigning the way these cameras capture light, Sony is leading the industry by creating this easy way to take amazingly clear, vibrant photos in low lighting scenarios.”

Both cameras also boast of the super-cool Partyshot tripod feature on top of providing excellent low-light shooting. The cameras have the Bionz processor which automatically combines the pictures together and creates an amazing panoramic photo. The models feature Face Detection and Smile Shutter functions, too. This automatically snaps images while the subject is smiling.

Sony’s Cyber-shot TX1 will be available from next month itself while WX1 will be available in October. The WX1 will be priced at $350 (approx. Rs. 16,649), while TX1 will be priced at $380 (approx. Rs.18, 076).
