Motorola Android phones to be released on Sept 10

Motorola had invited press reporters for an event having Android logo on Sept. 10 in San Francisco, suggesting a launch of the new Android handset. Moto's proprietary "dumb-phone" platform is not selling so good nowadays due to the smartphones and especially so with recent releases and price-drops (of the Android OS and Apple iPhone, respectively).

Motorola will be increasing its potential a lot with the release of the Android OS, hope the rumors come true for Moto to improve in market.

For quite some time, Motorola has had an Android-focused section of their "MOTODEV" developer website; this is one of the close official confirmations we have, Motorola's first Android handset is nearly here.

Images leaked to be of Moto's new "Morrison" handset (rumored for T-Mobile) shows a T-Mobile G1-like form factor with the familiar slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. The trackball has been replaced with a directional pad that is completely covered while the keyboard is stowed, which differs from G1.

The mobile will be featuring a large, wide-format screen and what looks to be three touch-sensitive buttons. The rumored handset is codenamed as “Sholes” and has a similar form factor, but with slightly different navigational buttons and a larger display.

Keeping aside all thoughts and wishes we will come to know the reality on September 10th about the position of Motorola's future in the smartphone market.
