Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for July, 2009.
Production
• Nissan's global production in July decreased 15.9% year-on-year to 265,623 units.
• Production in Japan decreased 28.3% year-on-year to 92,609 units.
• Production outside of Japan decreased 7.4% year-on-year to 173,014 units.
• In the U.S., production decreased 32.3% year-on-year to 30,463 units.
• In Mexico, production decreased 13.6% year-on-year to 28,672 units.
• In the U.K., production increased 6.3% year-on-year to 37,754 units.
• In Spain, production decreased 68.1% year-on-year to 6,340 units.
• In China, production increased 42.8% year-on-year to 54,265 units, marking a record month for the second consecutive month.
• Production in other regions increased 0.8% year-on-year to 15,520 units.
Sales
• Global sales decreased 6.0% to 311,198 units compared to the previous year.
• Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 60,711 units in Japan, down 1.8% year-on-year. Market share was up 0.5 percentage points year-on-year to 14.1%.
• In Japan, vehicle registrations in July decreased 1.0% year-on-year to 60,711 units, comparable to the same level in the same month last year, due to sales of the Nissan ECO series • which qualified for preferential tax. Nissan's share of the domestic market registrations in July was up 0.5 percentage points year-on-year to 17.1%.
• Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were down 5.1% from the previous year to 11,142 units.
• Sales outside of Japan decreased 7.0% year-on-year to 250,487 units.
• Sales in the U.S. decreased 24.6% year-on-year to 71,847 units.
• In Europe, sales decreased 16.1% year-on-year to 44,593 units.
• China saw a record month with sales up a significant 85.9% year-on-year to 71,100 units due to increased sales of Teana, Sylphy, and Tiida.
• Sales in other regions were down 25.9% from the previous year to 42,467 units.
Japan Exports
• Nissan's exports in July decreased 50.0% year-on-year to 41,702 units.
• Exports to North America decreased 16.8% year-on-year to 26,012 units.
• Exports to Europe decreased 83.4% year-on-year to 2,448 units.
