Nikon launches exclusive D-SLR Zone in Hyderabad

Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of the imaging industry leader - Nikon Corporation, today launched an exclusive Nikon professional D-SLR camera zone for the consumers at Byas Foto World, 3-6-14/4-10, Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The store was inaugurated by Mr. Moti Lal Vohra, AICC General Secretary, Treasurer and Incharge of Haryana Congress Party in presence of Mr. Hidehiko Tanaka Managing Director Nikon India.

As part of its aggressive expansion plans in India, Nikon has established its exclusive D-SLR zones where the entire range of D-SLR cameras, NIKKOR lenses and an elaborate range of COOLPIX compact cameras would be on display. This is the fourth such zone that Nikon has opened in India in addition to three zones in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Going forward Nikon aims to open 25 similar outlets across India by the end of this financial year.

Mr. Hidehiko Tanaka, Managing Director, Nikon India said ' Launch of Nikon D-SLR zone in Hyderabad is a major step towards not only strengthening our brand but also promoting  photography culture in a big way, specially in the southern markets. Through this we hope to reach out to the customers and bring to them the Nikon’s 70 years of expertise in professional cameras in an accessible form. We want to empower our consumers by means of providing technical know how from experts and the opportunity to touch and feel the cameras so that they can make the right buying decision. We are positive that this initiative of Nikon will be received well by the consumers in Hyderabad.”

At the Nikon’s exclusive zone, consumers - both professional and amateurs get to touch, feel and experience the Digital SLR Cameras with combination of lenses and other accessories providing expert guidance, technical know how all under one roof. Most importantly, Hyderabad photography lovers can now obtain first hand information on entire range of products and make an informed choice. Nikon exclusive D-SLR zone is an attempt to provide customers with an interactive and informative shopping experience.

“The Southern market contributes around 28% of the overall sales of Nikon in India, out of which Karnataka alone contributes 9%. Hyderabad contributes 7% while Tamil Nadu, Kerela & rest of Andhra Pradesh combined contribute around 12%.” He added

Presently, Nikon is targeting 800 retail outlets for in store branding along with the plans to hire 200 in store promoters in the current financial year to further improve the buying experience.
