After Tata Motors launched the world’s cheapest car ‘Nano’, there the trend for the cheapest has started as now; the famous company Godrej is launching the cheapest refrigerator.

Godrej has designed a six litre refrigerator, which is less than two feet in dimension and would be priced at less than one-third of the standard model i.e. just Rs 2500. But undoubtedly the dimension of fridge makes us think will it be good enough to store food and milk and water and ice, etc. in such a small fridge? A big question mark for a family of four or more. Though it really works very well for two and especially when both are working so it is in least use.

The company is currently doing test marketing for the model of fridge in Andhra Pradesh. The Godrej Group Chairman Adi Godrej is waiting curiously for the results and will decide on that basis about their further course of action.

Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce similar Televisions, which have already been launched in Southern states but no more details are obtained.

As per the industry’s current estimates, the total market for refrigerators in India is around 3 million units annually and is growing at 15 per rate per year.
