One lakh Maruti DZire models sold!

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car maker and also with highest number of small car models. Today, Maruti announced that its entry level sedan ‘DZire’ model’s one lakh units are sold since its launch before 18 months.

Maruti DZire model was launched by the company last fiscal in both petrol and diesel variants. The car competes with the cars like GM Aveo, Ford’s Fusion, Tata’s Indigo, and Hyundai’s Accent. The car ranges between Rs 4.49 lakh and Rs 6.70 lakh.

Moreover, with the increasing demand and such high sales, the company is scaling up its production from 4,000 units initially to 7,000 units a month now, as per the company person who chose to be anonymous. 

The company has done great achievement in the recent times with 80 lakh units of cumulative production for all its brands, and selling one lakh units of its KB-series engines and launch of the 1,00,000th units of its flagship export model 'A-Star'. 

The carmaker had a market share of 38.6 percent in the A3 segment in the period between April to August.
