Panasonic India is all set to invest US Dollars 100 million (Rs 5,000 crore) for setting up its sixth production facility for new plasma TV in 2011, as per the reports from one of the company official. 
Daizo Ito, CEO, Panasonic India told reporters here, "We plan to invest USD 100 million in our new production facility in 2011”. Though the CEO has not yet revealed the location of the new unit. The company has current five production units in the country, at Noida, Gurgaon, Vadodara, Chennai and Delhi.
Panasonic is all about investing in plasma TV is not just an investment but it is after a market research that shows the great demand for plasma TVs in India and which is increasing at a rate of 4-10 per cent.
The Plasma Television has a wide range price starting from Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 30 lakh (for an 103-inch screen).
The company is hoping to sell around 60 per cent of their plasma TV units this year. As per the reports, the company had earned 4500 crore of revenue last year and is targeting 200 per cent growth in the current year.
The company is all woking at its peak to do the advertising as well. The brand ambassador of the company is the chocolaty hero of the new generation, Ranbir Kapoor.
