The Nissan’s electric car Leaf will be launched globally by the end of next year, though India has to wait longer as the car will roll out here by 2011-12.
First of all, the Leaf will be seen on the roads of Japan, being Nissans home town as well as in United States of America and Europe also see the car at the same time. The company is expecting huge benefits from this eco-friendly car.
"We definitely want to introduce Leaf in India. And there is a probability that China will additionally be in a list of countries where Leaf will symbol a debut.
The Leaf was unveiled at Nissan's headquarters Yokohama in Japan last month. Nissan's global chief, Carlos Ghosn, had said that the Leaf, which runs 160 km on a single charge, would be priced on a par with gasoline-run cars, excluding the cost of battery.
The car will be imported to India lately but let’s see before it comes here we may see many more better models here. With current import duty of 110 per cent the car will almost cost double of its actual price in India.
Reva, being Indian made will give a tough competition to this eco-friendly electric car in India with brand new models from a brand, NXR as well as NXG, accessible here by 2011. And many more car companies come in competition by that time like Bavina cars, Tata, that is approaching to launch a electric chronicle of Indica in Norway as well as competence launch same or a opposite indication in India.
Not yet sure, but the car may hit the Indian roads by 2012 and Indian consumers may see a variety of models in electric cars by that time confusing them which to select. Nissan might prove to work out with its car here by that time. Hope for the best, Nissan!
