Toyota Corolla Altis CNG to hit the Indian roads this season

Bookmark and Share

Japanese auto giant Toyota’s Corolla Altis in new variant of CNG as a fuel option is all set to hit the Indian roads this season probably next month. After the Innova CNG, and the only other car in Corolla segment Chevrolet Optra CNG, the Corolla Altis is the next Toyota vehicle to come factory fitted with a CNG kit.

Moreover, the Cedia LPG has been discontinued.

CNG is a better fuel replacement to petrol or diesel, being cheap as well as available.

The major attraction is the price as the car running on CNG will cost around Rs. 1-1.5 per kilometre for most cars, saving hell lot of money.

The Corolla Altis CNG is currently getting a final touch hoping to get little bit changes in suspension setup at the rear, reason being the additional 70 kg weight of CNG tank with the weight going up to a total of 80kg once the 14kg (gas capacity) tank is filled.

Altis CNG will feature a modern Sequential Injection system, along with its own ECU, to deliver economy without sacrificing on performance and driveability, says sources.

But there is one question still as lack of CNG station is a big issue. But hope this problem solves in near future and this car works well.

Toyota has not yet revealed the price tag of the car. But hope the new car will have great sales and light this Diwali for the company.
