TVS Motors Flame has got an approval from the SC to be launched and company is all set to ride the Flame on Indian roads soon after it gets necessary clearance certifications.

Flame’ with twin spark plug was on hold since long but TVs got a sigh of relief with the SC’s order last week.

"The company will take steps to obtain all necessary certifications required under law, such as under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, before commencing sales of twin spark plug TVS-Flame," the Chennai-based firm said in a statement.

TVS Motors and Bajaj Auto were in a legal conflict for the bike as said it is stolen. After the protest of Bajaj, TVS had put a hold on the manufacturing, marketing and selling of TVS Motors’ 125 cc motorcycles. But later it was permitted by High Court, though Bajaj challenged the High Court order and filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

Last week a two-member Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Markandey Katju and Justice Ashok Kumar Ganguly, permitted the sales of TVS Motor Flame. Madras High Court was also directed to hear the tussle between the two firms.

The final result is yet awaited and hearing should be concluded by Nov 30 this year as per the court.
