Yamaha scooters will very soon hit the Indian roads. The company is to launch scooters in coming three years of time. 
Yukimine Tsuji, CEO of India Yamaha Motor, said that, “India has 1.2 million units a year scooter market, so it has a huge potential. We have plans to enter the scooter segment in another three years or so”.
The company is planning high with great export targets double than last years and also is planning to increase up to 500 dealers in India by 2009, up from current 400 dealers. Company is looking to reach out even rural areas.
Tsuji boasts of having motorcycle in every segment including the recently launched 153cc Limited Editions Fazer and FZ series models, 150cc R15, 125cc Gladiator, 106cc G5, Alba and Crux models. He added, “Our 150cc+ bikes - R15, FZ series and Fazer - have been successful in major metros including Kolkata [Images]. Now we want to replicate the same success story in smaller towns as well.”
Yamaha is also launching many new campaigns and promotions to attract customers and provide value to customers.
