New Nissan Z370 sports car on Indian roads by Jan

Nissan Motors India is all set to rule the Indian roads with its new sports car Z370 in January 2010.

The company is planning to expand its business and launch new variants in India, including five locally-made cars and four imported models by 2012. The five locally made modes will be manufactured in its facility that is coming up in Chennai, while; rest of them will be Completely Built Units (CBU).

The new facility will also be used for exporting cars to Europe and other 100 countries.

Nissan has already launched its new X-Trail and Teana cars and sees Indian market as very prospective and looking forward to bring more models.

Hover Automotive India (marketing partner of Nissan, India), vice-chairman, G M Singh told reporters, “Though the market for sports car in India is limited now, but we think over a period of time, the market for such cars will increase”.

The company will also unveil its small car Micra hatchback on new platform in 2010 in the Indian market.

Nissan is expecting to achieve sale of 15,000-20,000 units in India after the commencement of facility in Chennai.

Singh said, “We have already opened seven dealerships across India and plan to take the number up to 18 by the end of this financial year”.
