On Wednesday, Telecom Major, Reliance Mobile has announced the launch of the CDMA based Blackberry Tour on its network in India in partnership with Canadian firm Research In Motion.
The Blackberry Tour smartphone is a 3G-enabled smartphone that will include features like international roaming support to help users stay in touch whether they travel around the corner or around the world. It is a high-end CDMA smartphone with a host of multimedia functionalities as well as support for email, social networking and a wide variety of other mobile applications.
The blackberry Tour is sleek looking device with black finish and chrome highlights surrounding its edges. It has full-QWERTY keyboard with screen resolution of 480x360.
The phone also features 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, variable zoom, image stabilization, autofocus and video recording. The Tour also boasts of full HTML web browser, including support for streaming audio and video (RTSP), advanced media player for videos, pictures and music, a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and support for the Bluetooth Stereo Audio Profile (A2DP/AVCRP). The device has 256MB flash memory as well as expandable memory via hot swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot, supporting up to 32GB cards.
The previous models of Blackberry will also be available like BlackBerry Curve 8330, BlackBerry Pearl 8130, BlackBerry 8703 and BlackBerry 8830. The phone is expected to be launched on October 12 all over India.
The Blackberry Tour will cost Rs. 27990. The company is currently offering a special promotion for pre-booking, i.e. two months of free BlackBerry Internet Service on Reliance Mobile's CDMA network. Booking are already started.
