After 4 months of the death of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, his new song ‘This Is It’ gets its first airplay on October 12th. The song was premiered on national radio across the UK this morning - and got a resounding thumb up.

BBC Radio 1 has confirmed it will be one of the stations to play the track, which features the backing vocals of the late singer’s brothers.

The new album, which is also called ‘This is it’, will have this song and also songs featured in a documentary about the singer. This album will be released on October 26, to coincide with the worldwide release of the film.

The first disc has the original album masters of some of Jackson’s biggest hits, arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film, and will end with two versions of This Is It, which features in the film’s closing sequence. The second disc contains previously unreleased versions of some of the Jackson’s classic tracks and a “touching” spoken word poem titled Planet Earth.

The album includes exclusive photos of Jackson from his last rehearsal.
